Beginnings
The resources found on the Behold Glory website are born out of local church ministry. While these resources can be used on an individual basis, they were originally created to be used within the context of the local church. After years of leading multiple ladies’ Bible studies, counseling women, and teaching 4th graders how to discover God for themselves through His Word, Kelly has seen the fruit of God’s Word applied to life within personal relationships in her own church body. This partnership has allowed her to vet these resources both theologically and practically under pastoral oversight from her local church. Both the Philosophy of Women’s Ministry and the Statement of Faith provided below are taken directly from Bethany Baptist Church where Matt and Kelly still enjoy membership.
Statement of Faith
We believe that the Bible is the very Word of God.
We believe that there is only one true and living God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was and is both fully divine and fully human; that He took on Himself the form of a man, lived a sinless life and died as a substitute for us, rising again to make full atonement for our sins.
We believe that Christ died for the sins of all people and that the free gift of salvation is offered to all. In order to receive eternal life, a person must be born again by turning from sin and to God, by believing in Christ as Lord and Savior, and by accepting His offer of mercy.
We believe that a true believer has been set apart positionally before God the moment he believes and that he will continue to progressively grow in grace to be more like Christ. One day the believer will be perfectly transformed into the image of Christ.
We believe that Christ instituted two ordinances for His church: baptism as a testimony and picture of our faith in Him, and the Lord’s Supper as commemoration of His death until He comes.
We believe that the family was instituted by God and is defined by the marriage of one man to one woman.
